Computer and Educational Technologies Education Departments were first opened in 1998 by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) within the framework of the restructuring of the Faculties of Education.

The proposal of Fırat University to accept 40 students to the Fırat University BOTE Department in the 2004-2005 Academic Year was reviewed in the YÖK Executive Board Meeting dated 11/05/2004 and the proposal in question was deemed appropriate in accordance with Article 7/H of Law No. 2547 amended by Law No. 2880. Our department started education and training services with 42 students for the first term in the 2004-2005 academic year. In addition, our department started accepting students for the second term in the 2006-2007 academic year. However, with the closure of the second term of the faculties of education by YÖK, the admission of students to the second term of our department was also stopped.
